LEGOLAND Windsor
A bespoke commercial resin bound installation across the park's most loved outdoor attraction, delivered around live exhibits, in a finish built to match the craft of Miniland itself.
Resurfacing the heart of LEGOLAND Windsor.
Miniland is one of LEGOLAND Windsor's most popular attractions among fans of the brick. Every year it entertains thousands of visitors with its extraordinary scale and endless details. This outdoor exhibit is a constantly expanding beast, woven into the park's landscape and using the available terrain to form a harmonious blend of brick-built and real-world scenery.
Surelay was appointed in 2022 to resurface the public walkways and viewing zones throughout Miniland with a bespoke resin bound finish, durable enough for peak-season footfall, refined enough to disappear into the scenery.

A Landmark Brief
Resurfacing one of the UK's most photographed family attractions, every detail had to match the craft of Miniland itself.
Built for Footfall
Specified to handle thousands of daily visitors year-round, including pushchairs, wheelchairs and seasonal peak crowds.
SuDS Compliant
Permeable resin bound surfacing allows water to drain straight through, protecting the surrounding brick-built scenery.
Zero Park Disruption
Phased installation worked around park opening hours and live exhibits, with each zone handed back fully cured.
Installed around live exhibits.
Phased over multiple zones, our in-house team prepped, laid and cured each section in turn, re-opening footpaths to visitors as we moved through the park.

How we delivered the Miniland resurfacing.
Survey & Spec
Site walk-through with the LEGOLAND team to scope phasing, colour and access constraints around live exhibits.
Existing Removal
Tired existing surfacing was carefully broken out and removed without disturbing adjacent brick-built models.
Sub-base Prep
New permeable sub-base laid and compacted to the correct falls for full SuDS-compliant drainage.
Resin Bound Install
Hand-trowelled resin bound aggregate applied in a bespoke blend, matched to the park's natural palette.
Handover
Each zone re-opened to visitors fully cured, with aftercare guidance and 10-year warranty issued.
A finish that disappears into the scenery.
The completed Miniland resurfacing gives LEGOLAND Windsor a smooth, hard-wearing and fully permeable surface that complements the brick-built exhibits rather than competing with them. Visitors get a refined, accessible walking experience and the park gets a low-maintenance surface backed by a 10-year warranty.
